Osteopathy

Osteopathic Manual Practice evaluates and treats the body’s systems and its collaborative functions as a whole. Your current discomfort may be influenced by many factors, such as past injuries, surgeries, illnesses, stress, and the strains of daily living. Osteopathy considers the bio-psycho-social model of daily living. It aims to restore function in the body by treating the root causes of pain and imbalance. To achieve this goal, the therapist uses palpation and works with the position, mobility, and quality of the tissues. Osteopathy embraces the philosophy that the body has a natural ability to self-regulate and to heal itself. This ability is maintained by unimpeded circulation and through integration of all the body’s systems, structures, and fluids. Obstructions of these mechanisms are the focus of osteopathic evaluation and treatment.

Registered Massage Therapy

A registered massage therapist (RMT) in British Columbia is a health professional regulated by CMTBC under BC’s Health Professions Act. Massage therapy involves the assessment and treatment of the soft tissues and joints of the body. Massage includes manual methods to rehabilitate physical function, relieve pain, and promote health.
